LCSW Supervision

Are you ready to take the next step in your professional journey?

Kasey Shaw Salyer, LCSW, Board Approved supervisor offers LCSW supervision services in Texas through remote learning/ telehealth/ video supervision opportunities as well as in person supervision for clinicians in the Arlington, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Fort Worth and surrounding  DFW areas.

Finding a supervisor for your LCSW supervision is a big decisions as you pursue your professional dreams. Finding a supervisor that understands your goal, can communicate in your learning style and ultimately understands your long term professional aspirations is no small task. As a Board Approved,  LCSW supervisor,  I work from the philosophy that just like effective therapy, effective supervision is based off of a trusting and solid relationship between supervisee and supervisor. It is in this context that the work of refining your professional skills, challenging biases and working outside of your own comfort zone towards professional growth can occur. For this reason, I work to build relationships with potential supervisees and understand their goals as we work towards entering this type of profession relationship. Based off of the State of Texas Behavioral Health Executive Counsel requirements, this is, at a minimum, a two year process of collaboration and learning, and it is my hope that each supervisee would finish feeling supported and equipped to continue to their work independently, confidently and competently.

+ My Goal

  • As an LCSW supervisor, it is my goal to assist supervisees in becoming outstanding clinicians rooted in the ethics of the social work profession through:
    • education

    • theory application

    • clinical experiences

    • personal processing

+ My Clinical Experience

  • As a clinician I have invested significant time to refine my expertise in working with various forms of trauma in children, teens, and adults.
  • I have personally worked in both non-profit settings and private practice, out patient settings and understand the challenges of practice and the important role of supervision in both.
    • I also have experience in treatment planning including crisis intervention stabilization, short term directive models and longer term comprehensive needs assessment and maintenance of a variety of mental health disorders.
  • My current practice focus includes:
    • trauma
    • anxiety
    • depression
    • moods disorders
    • dissociation based disorders
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a model of trauma therapy that I have invested significant time to learn and practice. As an EMDR certified therapist and an EMDRIA approved consultant, I am passionate about the use and effectiveness of this model with my own clients, and also frequently help supervisees who choose to complete the EMDR basic training refine their own EMDR skills and confidently develop their abilities as an EMDR therapist and trauma specialist in their own practice. (An EMDR basic training must be completed by supervisees prior to receiving any supervisor or support in the use of any EMDR technique or interventions.)
  • Additional models of practice and training include
    • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT)
    • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Motivational Interviewing
    • Ego State Interventions
    • Dissociation and complex Trauma
    • Trust Based Relational Intervention

*On site clinical hours are available for those that are interested or need a practice location.

** Group supervision options are available based off of number of interested supervisees.
